Another day playing with soft chalk pastels for a rainbow background. I then decided to use some stencils I had to create silhouettes of snowmen in black with colored pencil on top of the pastels. I once trained to hand cut silhouettes at Disney Springs in Orlando, FL. It was fun learning to draw with scissors in the air and create unique keepsakes for guests to the local theme parks. It gave me a new appreciation for silhouettes in art as it opens up so many more options for how to express oneself without feeling overexposed. And how to tell a different story with how detailed or not a subject may be within the artwork along with the usual fundamentals of color theory, perspective, etc.
